The Emiliano Rio Hotel: A Complete Review [2025]
This is the Emiliano Rio Hotel, one of the most beautiful hotels in Rio de Janeiro.
If you walk down Avenida Atlântica, you’ll probably notice a building that is quite unlike the others. Its unique white-holed façade distinguishes it from the mostly gray and older constructions on the beach avenue.
This is the famous Emiliano Rio Hotel, a 5-star luxury hotel located right next to Copacabana Beach. Home to 90 rooms, half of which have beach views and balconies for people-watching, the hotel is also known for its food, excellent customer service, and luxury amenities.
After spending a weekend at the Emiliano Hotel Rio, I can confidently say that this is hands down my favorite hotel in all of Rio. Here is my honest review of some of my thoughts and recommendations for anyone who needs a little pampering when they are in Rio de Janeiro.

Summary
Located in the heart of Copacabana Beach, the Emiliano Hotel is an unmissable gem in Rio. From gourmet dining to top-notch amenities and an unbeatable view, a stay here guarantees a luxurious and unforgettable experience.
Emiliano Rio Hotel
What’s the story?

Designed by Arthur Casas, the façade of the building is meant to break the continuity of the concrete blocks of the builds around the edge. The massive retractable panels (cobogós) give Emiliano an ever-changing appearance.
When opened, they offer an unforgettable view of Copacabana. However, when closed, they still allow lighting, natural ventilation, and a view of the sea while still offering privacy. Inside is just as breathtaking as outside. The interior of the hotel is influenced by Brazilian modernism.
The fabric and textures used for the furniture in the reception area and in the rooms draw on hues of green, while the decor includes pieces by major names in Brazilian design of the ‘50s, such as Rio native Sergio Rodrigues, as well as by contemporary designers, such as Paola Lenti.
The surfaces are also marked by the lighter tones of 100% Brazilian materials, including wood, white Paraná marble, granite, and stone.
Location
Emiliano Rio Hotel enjoys a premier location right on Copacabana Beach, in front of the vibrant area near Posto 5. More than just a picturesque beach spot, Copacabana is the bustling heart of Rio for many tourists.
Here, you’ll find lively markets, diverse restaurants, chic shops, and the city’s best beach sidewalk, filled with inviting beach bars that come alive with music in the evenings. It’s a microcosm of Rio’s energy and charm, all within walking distance from the hotel.

The Rooms
Emiliano Rio de Janeiro Hotel provides guests with various room options to suit their unique preferences, budget, and needs. The most basic room category is their Deluxe King or Twin Courtyard Room, but the stars of the show are their ocean suites, including the Ocean King Junior Suite, which is where I stayed.
The Ocean King Junior Suite

Upon entering the Ocean King Junior Emiliano Suite, I was greeted by the breathtaking view of Copacabana Beach, framed by the generous 60m2 space. A delightful surprise awaited me: tropical fruits and chilled coconut water, a thoughtful welcome.
The suite’s design effortlessly highlights the view, with Emiliano-branded Haivanas placed beside an inviting king-sized bed. I couldn’t resist sinking into the Egyptian cotton sheets. The bed was heavenly—one of the best hotel beds I’ve ever slept in.
Along with the spacious room, the bathroom was far from ordinary, featuring a Victoria Albert design and a toto toilet with heated seats. A spacious closet/sink area, stocked with Emiliano’s vegan and cruelty-free Santapele cosmetics, offered an elegant space for getting ready.
Final touches, like a mini-bar filled with Moet & Chandon and an Illy coffee machine, added to the ambiance. Finally, each guest, no matter the room, is offered an on-call butler, room service, room turn-downs, and beach service. Luxury at its finest.
🧖♀️ If you are looking for the ultimate Spa getaway, The Emiliano Hotel Rio de Janeiro Brazil also has an Ocean Spa Suite, which is located on the top floor of the hotel and offers a private area for spa treatments, massages, and special baths.

Food & Drinks

The hotel is home to two restaurants, Restaurante Emile and Emiliano Rooftop, and one bar, the Emiliano Bar. Breakfast, brunch, and dinner are served in Restaurant Emile, which is located in the lobby of the hotel. Dinner is also served at the Emiliano Rooftop.
One of the stand-out features of this restaurant is that it has a beautiful green and lush vertical garden that provides a little extra to the ambiance of the location.
Executive Chef Camilo Vanazzi brings French culinary flair to the restaurant, with dishes notable for their vibrant colors, varied textures, and stunning presentation. This artistry helped earn the restaurant the title of Rio’s Best French Restaurant in 2020 by Veja Rio.
What’s the Breakfast like?
Breakfast at the Emiliano is served beside a lush green vertical garden, a feature that adds a unique touch to the morning. It starts with cold cuts, bread, cheese, and a fruit plate, served with coffee, tea, and juice.
Once those are enjoyed, a choice opens up from an all-you-can-eat menu filled with savory and sweet options like croque monsieur and French toast. It’s a memorable meal, structured and satisfying, without being overdone
What’s On the Menu For Dinner?

Looking at Emilianos menu, we opted for the Emile Experience, a three-course delight at R$197 (approx. USD$40), excluding drinks. The Grilled Angus Tenderloin, complemented with minas cheese aligot, Brazilian cashew nuts crumble, and black garlic sauce, came highly recommended – and it did not disappoint. Everything on the menu seemed a safe bet, offering value that matched the price.
Fancy dining with a view? The Emiliano Rooftop presents an exclusive option. Serving dishes prepared with organic products and fresh seasonal ingredients, it’s an intimate space with breathtaking views of the famous beach. Under Emiliano’s attentive care, it’s a special place to enjoy dinner, and the healthy menu provides an extra appeal.
🍽️ Dinner at the Emiliano isn’t just reserved for hotel guests—anyone can indulge in their culinary offerings. Come the weekend, the restaurant also hosts an irresistible all-you-can-eat and drink brunch menu. At R$250 (USD$50) per person, it’s a delicious brunch option in Rio de Janeiro.

Customer Service
The moment you step into the Emiliano, a warm welcome awaits. The front desk staff, fluent in various languages including English, are eager to please and accommodating to every whim. When the brunch was sold out, their commitment to hospitality shone through as they managed to squeeze me in at the last minute.

Amenities & Facilities

At Emiliano, comfort and relaxation take center stage. The rooftop infinity swimming pool is a standout feature, offering guests the chance to unwind with champagne and fine food, all while overlooking a breathtaking view. Beach service seamlessly extends this luxury to the sand, with water bottles, chairs, and towels arriving the moment they’re needed.
This Rio hotel spa is an urban refuge where well-being is prioritized. With a variety of treatments available, like the 60-minute aromatic massage I indulged in for R$449,00 (approx USD$85 or EUR€72), the experience is tailored to rejuvenate the body and soul in an environment infused with tranquility.
